Michael S. Berger, a professor of Religion at Emory University in Atlanta, GA, is a part-time Program Officer at The AVI CHAI Foundation. He focuses on teacher training and novice teacher support, as well as day school leadership programs. He has been with AVI CHAI since 2000.
Michael, who received his PhD in Philosophy of Religion from Columbia University, teaches courses on Jewish religious history and thought, and also teaches Rabbinics for the Wexner Heritage program. During the academic years 2004-06, Michael took a leave of absence from Emory to serve as Headmaster of Yeshiva Atlanta High School. He continues to serve on the board of that school and is active in Jewish life in Atlanta.
